Secrets of a Stylist workshop

As promised, I am finally allowed to post more images from the Secrets of a Stylist workshop with THE Lady Grey of greylikesweddings.com fame.

It was tough to wait, but so worth it! Green Wedding Shoes has picked up our inspiration story and will be featuring images by me and some of the other workshop attendees. I’ve personally been admiring Green Wedding Shoes and Grey Likes Weddings for as long as they have been around and couldn’t be more proud to see some of my own work featured on their sites.

Whether you’re new to the wedding industry or a seasoned pro, I highly recommend attending Summer’s workshop. I learned so much about her process and what a wedding blogger looks for in a submission. My future weddings and engagements will surely benefit from the knowledge I’ve gained.

Simon and Alyssa, an ever-so-hip L.A. music-scene duo, know how to work hard and how to play hard… And what better time to play hard than at your own wedding on the shores of Playa del Carmen, Mexico!

Sometimes I am astounded that it is MY JOB to observe and capture the glow of happiness surrounding two people who are madly in love. It is an infectious feeling. I find myself involuntarily smiling, laughing and crying right there with my couples, behind my camera. Simon and Alyssa’s wedding was no exception and possibly the most fun I’ve had on the job, ever. A close friend of the Bride and Groom performed the Ceremony with heartfelt sentiment and hilarious anecdotes. The guests then enjoyed a steak dinner while sipping Tequila Partida, flown in for the occasion by the maker, also a friend of Alyssa and Simon’s. Yeah, they have a lot of friends. Then, everyone took their shoes off to dance the night away in the sandy cabanas to music carefully curated by Simon and Alyssa (as can only be expected from two music enthusiasts). It was one hell of a party and I was honored to be a part of it. Congratulations Simon and Alyssa! Arriba! Abajo! Al Centro! Y Pa’dentro!

Beginning Spring 2013 I will be updating this blog with new content on a regular basis! I’m so excited to have this blog as a platform to share snippets of real weddings, engagement and portrait sessions and styled photo shoots. I will also be sharing some of my inspiration and my observations as I grow in the wedding photography industry. What fun we will have!
